Ms. Andrews is a native Californian and a 3rd generation Angelino. She is a mother of six children and a grandmother of three. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California cum laude with Departmental Honors. She also earned a masters degree in African-American Studies with an emphasis on English Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles. She went on to earn a masters degree in English from Cal State, Long Beach. After initially planning to teach at the college level, she worked as an Instructional Aide in Special Education. Falling in love with the class environment, she decided to become a public school teacher, and earned teaching credentials in Special Education from Cal State, Dominguez Hills and Cal State, Long Beach. She later earned an Administrative Credential from Cal State, Long Beach. She earned a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard University and is currently a second year doctoral student in the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. She has extensive training in all tiers of Restorative Justice practices and has attended training in Trauma Informed Practice or ACES. She is a proud Mother Member and serves on the Executive Board of Jack and Jill of America. Inc., and also serves as a Board Member of Leadership Long Beach.


Ms. Andrews’ desires to be a “servant leader,” and make sure that all students feel a sense of belonging in their learning environment. She strives to build community among all stakeholders, and with a humble heart, build capacity in those who work with and around her.  She believes that social emotional learning is as important as academic learning, and wants all students to leave high school with the amount of intellectual, soft and life skills needed to survive.

Mr. Comparan is a first-generation college graduate, Although not a product of Lynwood, he grew up around the Lynwood community in nearby cities such as Maywood, South Gate, and Downey. With an immense passion for science, Mr. Comparan joined the Lynwood family as a STEM educator in 2013 after earning his bachelor's degree from UCLA. During his time at Lynwood High, Mr. Comparan taught geology and AP Environmental Science. 


Throughout his time at LHS he earned his Master's Degree in educational administration and received his administrative credentials from the California State University Dominguez Hills. Over the years, Mr. Comparan has been the advisor to various classes and clubs, such as Lynwood High School’s GSA, AP Club, and has been a part of the Character Building group, which focuses on students’ mental health through hiking and camping activities. In addition, he has been involved in Lynwood High's school site council where he had the opportunity to advocate for several safety school measures.


Mr. Comparan was instrumental in developing our school-wide safety plan along with the safety committee. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Mr. Comparan has developed great relationships in the Lynwood community and has a very positive outlook on the future of our Lynwood family.
